"Miracle's Boys," the first original drama from The N, has lined up some impressive behind-the-camera talent.

The miniseries, based on a novel by Jacqueline Woodson, tells the story of three orphaned brothers growing up in Harlem. Spike Lee has already agreed to direct the first episode of the series, which his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, is executive producing.

The teen-oriented, nighttime incarnation of cable network Noggin has also signed Bill Duke (Showtime's "Deacons for Defense"), Ernest Dickerson ("The Wire," "Our America") and LeVar Burton ("Soul Food," "Star Trek: The Next Generation") to direct episodes of "Miracle's Boys," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Also, production company On Screen Entertainment has joined The N in producing the six-episode series, which follows Ty'ree, Charles and Lafayette Bailey as they try to cope with living on their own after their mother, Milagro, dies.

Dickerson was the cinematographer for a number of Spike Lee's films, including "Do the Right Thing," "Jungle Fever" and "Malcolm X." His directing credits include "Juice," "Monday Night Mayhem" and "Bones."

As a director, Duke has worked on "Fastlane" (in which he also had a recurring part), "City of Angels" and "Crime Story," as well as the feature films "Deep Cover" and "A Rage in Harlem." He co-starred in ABC's "Karen Sisco" last season.

Burton, best known for his roles in "Roots" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation," has directed numerous episodes of "Next Generation" and its successors in the "Star Trek" family.
